Lucy and I have a running joke that our musical tastes are completely different, with the exception of both of us loving Mazzy Star. It will be interesting to see how the music in her story will be different from the music in mine (and Laura's). I can't wait to see how the music will fit with the images.

Music
I've been listening to some songs that Watson, our music supervisor, has compiled for the film. We talked several months ago to go over what kind of music I'm looking for. He did a great job putting together a nice collection of songs. We haven't obtained the rights to use these songs yet, but Watson searched for indie musicians who may be willing to let us use their music for free in exchange for getting exposure on our website and film. So one of the songs that I loved is "See You Through" (listen to it above).

About The Three Shorts
Christine Le wrote and directed the 1st story Love 10 to 1.
The first story explores the life of a 29-year-old virgin, Jenny, who desperately wants to lose her virginity before her 30th birthday. As she encounters one loser after another on dates, Jenny pines after her boss, Dustin. While at her grandmother’s retirement home, Jenny learns a powerful lesson from her grandmother about sex and the meaning of life.
Christine Le (right) directs Shireen Nomura Mui (Jenny) & Justin Klosky (Jim).
Lucy Rodriguez wrote and directed Love Song.
The second story revolves around Shane, the lead singer of the L.A. rock band, Dirty Virgin. Shane has her pick of admirers but it’s her roommate Dustin she wants to be with. Shane confesses her feelings on Jackie and Jared’s show but when Dustin meets Cali, Shane’s shot at love starts to dwindle. With Dirty Virgin about to embark on a world tour, will Dustin realize that he’s the object of Shane’s affections? Will they risk their friendship to give this Love Song a chance?
Lucy Rodriguez & David Villar (Dustin)
Laura Somers wrote and directed Diving Lessons.
The final story picks up where Love 10 to 1 left off, but from the perspective of Jim, the guitarist of Dirty Virgin. Jim sees Jenny at a swimming pool, trying desperately to overcome her fear of diving. In fact, he finds out that she’s making a list of everything that she’s afraid of and trying to overcome them, one by one. He is instantly smitten and tries to convince her that he’s not just a rock star who ‘loves ‘em and leaves ‘em’. Can a rock star find love with a virgin?
Shireen Nomura-Mui, Laura Somers & Justin Klosky
Leah Anova is the Director of Photography for Love 10 to 1 & Diving Lessons.
Additional Cinematography on Diving Lessons by Erik Forsell
Matthew Boyd is the Director of Photography for Love Song.

Wow. Don't know what you plan on doing with that song, but it's great. Very 'joy of melancholy'.
BTW, that Hugh Grant song is very 80's... don't know if that's what you're looking for.
The Alex and Sam song is more comtemporary.
I love that: "joy of melancholy"--yes, that's exactly how I would characterize it! I would love to have "See You Through" play in our last scene when Jenny, the protagonist, dances with her best friend, Tim, as they reflect on the secret to happiness. Crossing fingers that the artists will let us use their music.
As for the Hugh Grant song, I didn't post that song up. There are three of us in this production, and we have different tastes in music. Thank goodness for variety, right? :)
Oops posted this is the wrong blog entry! See below..
OOh, I love that song See you through!...I can definately see it and its a great song for the film..perfect! It's free and easy, tells a story..yet not too intense and feels very free...loving, cute. Sweet!
i love it too! have you listened to "Old Timers", which I just added above? it doesn't quite fit in my story but i would love to use it in another film.
looks like Lucy just deleted the song "Old Timers" from this blog and replaced it with one of the songs she's hoping to use in her film. you can check it out on my myspace page!
